Indigo Ignited is an impressive collaboration between an American comic and a Japanese animation studio. The pilot also features voice acting and singing by NateWantsToBattle, Amanda Lee and Sean Chiplock. It was really cool to see the preview while attending Anime Expo this year. Check it out and let us know what you think!

With their kickass, Overwatch-inspired, bi-lingual original song “Fuego”, Rockit Gaming blazes a trail for the future of gamer music.
Leet Music had the opportunity to catch up with Rockitgaming recording artists / music producers Russell and Vinny recently after their PAX South panel, and a few weeks before their SXSW performance. It’s clear that this team has not only fantastic production chops, but a vision of how this kind of music and media will evolve. They’re dedicated to leading the way. Interview as follows:
NYC based j-pop duet 2une has been performing at conventions and events both local and in Japan. They just released their first song and music video, and Music Otaku had the opportunity to interview co-founder Sneko about their experiences!
At SXSW I had the opportunity to connect with the producer of We Are X and obtain a press pass to the film screening. We Are X is a documentary about Japanese supergroup X JAPAN which chronicles behind the scenes story of the artist and separates fact from rumor and myth. It was directed by Stephen Kijak and produced by John Battsek, and focuses mostly on X JAPAN founding member (drummer and pianist) Yoshiki.
At SXSW Music Otaku had the opportunity to interview Japanese artist Rei, doing her first performance in America at the festival. I met with Rei and her management before she began rehearsing for Japan Nite and had the opportunity to ask her questions about music, Japan and America!
This year fledgling North American based J-pop group 4te released two singles and music videos which show a lot of polish and potential. Their debut song “MORE” is an upbeat and catchy pop song with a great melody that I’ve had stuck in my head for a long time, and music video performance shots are suitably stylish. I’m usually skeptical about independent J-pop idol and moe groups but I’m really impressed with what they’ve put together so far!
